1992. Wrong turn.

Jump back to the previous strip to experience the scene change properly. As is often the case in Westward, you'll be expected to knit the story together from disconnected points in time. But I'll try to make it as easy as I can. :D -e

I keep thinking I see things in the shapes of the rocks. Are they random?

Oh, and that's going to smart.
Oh you are not going to make this easy, are you?
Steve: I don't know if anything that bubbles up from the recesses of my mind is truly random, even if it's meant to be.

James: Well, easy is relative. Following Westward should ideally be easier than A Critique of Pure Reason and harder than My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
Does this mean that 'Mama' is the one who made the wrong turn? :(
Does this mean that the woman is tall as a house? Because if that's the same spot, and she and the car are roughly at the same distance from our point of view, she's really, really tall.
My self-confidence as an artist is low enough without remarks like that, Gillsing. ;p

Mutants are everywhere.
Funny thing is, this picture actually reminds me of my life in 1992.
@Dr. Phibes: You must have been a terrible driver back then.
I apologize for my remark. It's just that Westward is too unpredictable for me to completely rule out 5 meter tall mutant women, however unlikely they would be, even in the post-apocalyptic wasteland.
No apology necessary, Gillsing. :D I certainly do enjoy the occasional instance when I am able to catch my astute and jaded readers by surprise.

And, admittedly, I framed the scene more for narrative than perspective. A better artist would be able to accomplish both, but if wishes were fishes...
