Nice dig by Phobos in panel 2. How to stop Stan? I know. Punch a hole in the reactor room exposing it to space. Then the cold, airless vacuum will render him inert, just like the octo-torti in the artifact.

Oh wait!
Was it a dig, do your suppose, or something more?

You guessed the ending, James! The next comic is going to take place 5 million years in the future, when a group of exploring space-squids stumbles upon the derelict wreckage of Westward, only to be possessed by the ghost of, um, Spratt...?
"Something more," eh? I am increasingly wondering about Phobos' heritage... :P
Possessed by the Ghost of Spratt? Egad! That's almost worse than being eaten by Phobos. Maybe Photos is the distant descendant of the octo-torti (speaking of his heritage). In that case, the one possessing Stan could approach Phobos and say, "Luke...uh, Phobs, I am your father."

Noooooooooooooooooooooo!
Ohhh? :P But it was Phobos referring to *human* genetic history that we're told may have been "something more"...

... And on that note, have you noticed that we've seen three alien races so far including Phobos (that I recall)... And Phobos is the only one who is clearly humanoid?... Hmm... :P

On another note, I think I just got the little joke in the text under the comic. Cassandra. Always the last to know. >.<
Phobos wasn't intentionally being subversive or accusing.
