What does "thicker" mean? (Ref. panel 2)

Yep, could be trouble, James. :)

In panel 2, Stan is referencing the higher levels of ozone in the atmosphere. "Thicker" might not be the most accurate terminology. But dammit, he's a doctor, not an English major!
Scott:
"yards"? So in this alt universe they're not metric 100%? Awesome!

In this universe, universal systems smack too much of Communism. ;)
Dan:
In panel 2 the phrase "you should fine" should be "you should be fine". I know it doesn't matter, but it was just bugging me.

Not everyone speaks proper English. In fact I would say that Standard English or Vulcan English is almost a foreign idiom.
