The universe needs more people like us in more places.

The art is rough, but I love this strip. It goes a long way to explain the mentality of the people aboard Westward. The center panel backdrop is a throwback to my very first concepts for Westward, consisting of a weekly strip drawn rather awkwardly without outlines. -e

So the recording console thing he's using just floats in the air all by itself? Kinda odd.

To think of all the dozens of times I've looked at this strip and never noticed that mistake. Horrifying.

Just default to what you said in the previous strip, even if it's not applicable: "Technology in the 1998 of Westward is markedly different from our own; more advanced in some ways, less advanced in others."
