I'd just like to share this lovely and not at all dangerous gift my wife gave me for Christmas—a pair of steampunk spelunking goggles! Strangely, she can't recall precisely how she obtained them.

The other gift she gave me was a Nook Simple Touch, which ensures I'll spend even less time interacting with other humans. Thanks, darling!

The goggles might do nothing, but you still look pretty cool wearing them.
You're welcome, love! Gah, you look so hott. <3
Cool stuff, I use a kindle3 myself but it's the exact same tech. with a different logo. Actually I just re-read Hawking's A Brief History of Time on it (which I preferred over A Briefer History of Time), you might really enjoy the read and it's not all that long.
Though I suspect given the content you create that you've already read it or are already aware of the ideas it explains.
Carl Sagan's Cosmos is brilliant as well though it, understandably, deals much less with special relativity and quantum mechanics due to its broad subject nature.

But what I wonder did you get her for Christmas?
Interestingly enough, Katawa, A Brief History of Time was quite influential to Westward in several ways...although I probably spend more time patently ignoring actual physics than I do abiding by it.

For Christmas, I gave Brittany a tent, snowshoes, a flashlight and a knife. I know it seems like I'm trying to get rid of her, but keep in mind that her Christmas wishlist included aerial silks, a throwing tomahawk and a compound bow. ;-p
Mann, I have got to start keeping up with this blog more. O_o Those are awesome! Your presents are also awesome! However, combined, these gifts do make me wonder if the two of you know something we don't -- an upcoming steampunk apocalypse of some kind?

Those goggles do look excellent for spelunking -- but there's something queer about these caves. I don't think they're safe.
I'm more of a dieselpunk guy, but they do look cool. Do you just wear them around the house or have you gone shopping or out to dinner while wearing them?
